DARNESHA LEONARD DOUBLES DOWN ON ANTI-WHITE POST
Palatka, FL – DarNesha Leonard, one of the organizers of Saturday's Black Lives Matter protest in Palatka, doubled down on a social media anti- ‘white people’ social media post. After a previous Facebook post was exposed where Ms. Leonard stated “white people are the ‘scum of the earth’" that “are mutants that shouldn’t even exist”, she re-posted it, admitting she had deleted the post and opined she was “done addressing this”. The best she could come up with to defend her bigoted and hate filled remarks was the retort “Obviously, I’ve changed. How exactly has she changed?” said David McCallister, Save Southern Heritage FL spokesman." “She didn’t apologize; she didn’t ask for forgiveness, she didn’t even say she was wrong, or that she disavows her previous statements. In fact, the opposite is true. She now seems to be affiliated with a group Muhammed Ali, Jr. recently called “racist devils”, Black Lives Matter. Ms. Leonard, who lives in Tallahassee and who claims because she “loves Putnam County”, moved the time and place for her August 8th protest of the Putnam Co. Veterans Memorial to “avoid conflict”. This seems to contradict Ms. Leonard’s recent postion: “No justice, no peace” relating to her demand to remove the Confederate Memorial from the Putnam Co. Courthouse. "That is nothing more than a dog whistle for 'give me what I, want, white boy, or I’ll set your hood on fire'" McCallister remarked. HK Edgerton, past President of the NAACP in Asheville, NC, and guest speaker at Saturday's Pro-Memorial protest, when asked about Ms. Leonard's comments said "This is the most bigoted thing I've ever heard". Ms. Leonard’s social media profile states she is a criminology student at Florida State University.
